Ween, like a lot of my favorite music, is hard to describe. This record, their third real release and first major-label release, is a piece of work for sure!

If you are the sensitive type (or even if you aren't), you might find the lyrics here to be a bit much. Damn near every song could easily be offensive to someone, and many of them offensive to many. Various sexual perversions, real and imagined, are dealt with, as well as drug references, and some might take offense at a term like "reggae junkie Jew".

And while a lot of this recording sounds like two kids having fun with stolen studio time, there is some really creative stuff here. "The Stallion Pt 3" is a personal favorite, the first time you hear it with its pitch-shifted vocals and autistic lyrics, you'll think it's a throwaway. The 5th time or so I had one of those musical epiphanies and now I think it's beyond brilliant.

Anyway, this record is one helluva ride. "Jumpin' 4 the Man" couldn't describe the attitude of an angry young man pissed at his minimum wage life any better, as those of us who have been there know!
