Massive Attack's initial full length release, Blue Lines, was perhaps the herald of a new fusion in pop music. Blending elements of hip-hop, reggae, and psychedelia (to name only some), they created a new sound and performed and produced it flawlessly. It is no surprise that Massive Attack are from Bristol.

Tracy Thorn provides guest vocals on the title track and others. This track is the best, lacking a common flaw of Massive Attack songs, sometimes weak lyrics. Musically, this record is wonderful throughout, with the possible exception of the pointless closing, a live version of Light My Fire.

I think this is their best record.
