Hold the mouse cursor over an area of the screen to see a descriptive popup.

Date Selection Panel - here you select the date you wish to view.  Click the calendar icon to pick from a calendar.  Click Next or Previous buttons.  If not viewing today's date, click Today to jump to it. Log Eaten Panel - use these buttons to log an eaten food, update a logged food, or remove an item from the log. Category button - this pops up a dialog you use to define food categories. Master List button - Brings up the Master Foods list. This list includes the USDA SR13 database, as well as fast foods from the most popular chains.  You use the Master List to add foods to your short custom My Foods list. Print button - print the logged foods for the current day or a range of days. Plan button - Use to work with Plans, to help plan daily meals to reach your nutritional goals. My Foods button - brings up your custom My Foods list.  You select the foods you log from this list. Settings button - use to set preferences and nutritional goals. Export button - use to export logged food data. Info button - brings up the Help window. Eaten Food List - shows the foods you have logged for the selected day.   Right click here for a Speed Menu, shown below. Daily Note - enter some free form notes about your daily diet here. Graphs - this panel contains 2 sets of graphs.  The upper set shows you how your daily logged foods compare with your goals (if you have set them).  The lower graph shows the composition of your logged foods by weight and by calories.
The main screen has your daily Eaten Log and buttons for all major functions. Logging the foods you eat is easy with Eatometer. You can quickly and easily copy and paste foods from previous days to today's log.

The Goals panel shows you how your daily intake compares with your goals.

The Composition panel shows the percentage of protein, fats and carbs, by weight and by calories, of the selected day's intake.

The Daily Note panel lets you keep notes for every day.

Add Eaten Item - log a new eaten food. Update Item - update highlighted logged item. Remove Item - remove highlighted item from log. Copy  Item - copy the selected item to Eatometer's local clipboard. Paste Item - paste a previously Copied item into the log. Add Like Item - add another item to the log like the selected item.  Use to log, for example, a same food eaten again on the same day. Copy Item to Today - use this command to copy and paste the selected item to today's log. Previous Day - go to previous day. Next Day - go to next day.

By right-clicking a logged food item, you can perform many quick operations - such as go back a day or two and copy a logged item to today.
