The My Foods List Dialog contains your
custom short list of eaten foods. The primary use of the list is
for selecting eaten foods.
Note that this dialog has dual purposes.
It can be invoked from the Main Window to maintain your food items,
adding, importing, updating or deleting.
It is also invoked in Select mode
from the
Food Eaten Dialog.
In this case you use it to select
the food you ate from your custom list. If the food is not on your
list, you will need to add or import it.
By default, foods in this list are sorted according to their usage.
Foods you eat often will appear at the top of the list for easy
selection. Alternatively, you can click on any of the column headings on the list
to sort by that column. Click the column label again to reverse the sort. Click the
Sort by Usage button to return to the usage-based sort.
Select a food Category using the
drop list box. Only foods in the selected category are shown, or use the first
entry in the list, ALL Categories, to see everything. If showing a
specific category, you can click the All button show all categories.
The quick jump buttons above the list will help you quickly find the food you
want to select. Click the letter to jump to the first food starting with that
letter. Click again to go to the next. If the letter is grayed out, there are no
foods in your list starting with that letter.
Use the Find feature to search the item descriptions for a word,
part of a word or phrase. Click the Go button or just press Enter to
jump to the next item that matches.
If you are in Select mode, you can
highlight an item and click the Select button, or just double-click an
item to complete the selection.
There are 3 ways to add foods to your list.
To update a food item use the Update
button, delete an item using the Remove button. Note that
it is permissible to delete an item that is "in use", since the nutritional
values are copied into the Eaten record, not referenced.
You should clean foods you never eat from
your custom list periodically. Since you can sort your list by usage
frequency (see above), foods near the bottom of your list are those
you are eating infrequently.
You can right-click on the list to invoke
a pop-up speed menu. The Add, Import, Update and Remove commands
are available from this menu.
The
Food Composition Graphs for the
highlighted item are shown at the
bottom of the screen.
